Ordering information
This alarm system is delivered without software as standard. If you specify the car manufacturer, vehicle type and year of manufacture, we will load the appropriate software onto the alarm system free of charge and provide you with a connection diagram for the car.
You no longer have to do without a necessary alarm system in your vehicle due to the complexity of installation. The Ampire CAN bus alarm systems are armed via the vehicle's own CAN data bus of the comfort electronics and supplied with all alarm-specific information, which means that the installation costs are significantly lower than with conventional systems. In addition, the CAN bus alarm systems from Ampire also automatically control the indicators and comfort locking if this is supported by the car. Because unlike most cheaper CAN bus alarm systems on the market, Ampire CAN bus alarm systems can not only read information on the data bus, but also write commands.
Equipment
- Arming/disarming only with the original factory remote controls or comfort keys
- No disarming by breaking into the door lock or trunk lock
- Flashing LED with integrated service button enables you to diagnose, operate and program
- Integrated 2-stage shock sensor with advance warning warns of break-ins or parking bumps
- No false alarm when the trunk is opened remotely or the auxiliary heating or remote engine start is activated
- Emergency disarming and service mode possible at any time and safely if the radio remote control is defective
- Includes high-current immobilizer relay for safe starter interruption
Alarm zones
The Ampire CAN bus alarm system optimally protects your vehicle via 6 separate alarm zones. With the anti-false alarm function, individual zones are automatically deactivated in the event of a malfunction. The long-term memory allows you to read out the two alarm zones that last triggered an alarm at any time.
- Alarm zone 1: triggered when the hood/trunk is opened (via CAN)
- Alarm zone 2: triggered by strong impacts via the integrated shock sensor (sensitivity adjustable)
- Alarm zone 3: triggered when the doors are opened (via CAN)
- Alarm zone 4: triggered via optional sensor (analog)
- Alarm zone 5: triggered when the ignition is switched on (via CAN)
- Alarm zone 6: Triggered via optional alarm contact (analog)
Pre-warnings caused by light impacts (via the integrated shock sensor) or by the optional sensor are not switched off as an alarm zone.
Engine compartment siren
This ultra-compact 514LN siren with ferrite magnet is the best and loudest siren in our range with 121dB sound pressure. The splash-proof siren has 6 different siren tones that are played one after the other and change every 5 seconds. The alarm duration is preset to 30 seconds at the factory and can be extended to 60 seconds by the user.
- Sound pressure level (SPL): 121dB (1 meter distance)
- Magnet material: Ferrite
- Current consumption during alarm: 1200mA
- Number of different siren tones: adjustable 6 (different) or 1 (constant)
- Alarm duration: adjustable 30/60 seconds
- Volume of the siren chirp: adjustable ("quiet", "loud", and "off")
- Dimensions of the siren: 84x83x72mm
Outputs
- Immobilizer relay "FailSafe" included (15A load)
- analog alarm output (200mA load), for the vehicle horn or an optional GPS tracking system
- analog indicator/parking light output (200mA load), if it cannot be controlled via CAN
- analog AUX channel for controlling optional accessories (200mA load), if the lock button on the remote control is pressed twice
- analog arm output (500mA resilient), for controlling optional accessories
Note on the firmware
These CAN bus alarm systems are delivered without vehicle-specific firmware. Because the alarm systems can read and write on the data bus, the firmware is significantly more complex and must first be loaded using the XKLOADER2 or XKLOADER3 programming device. We can gladly load the appropriate firmware for you free of charge. Please state the exact vehicle type and year of manufacture when ordering. It is also important whether the vehicle has comfort access (smart key). You can also find further information and the latest firmware for your vehicle at: www.directechs.com in English.
Settings
The most important operating settings can be changed yourself using the service button integrated in the LED. This can be done more quickly and comprehensively with the optionally available "Bitwriter" programming device. This can simply be plugged into the serial "ESP" interface. This can also be used to enter a code into the alarm system or to lock the settings by manual external access. We recommend installing the optionally available Bitwriter cable in every vehicle.
Legal notice
We recommend activating the siren tones when arming/disarming (menu item 1-2). This means that you, as the user of the alarm system, receive acoustic messages about the status of the alarm system. You are informed by quiet siren tones (siren chirping) whether the alarm system has been armed correctly. An acoustic error message (siren chirping) would immediately report a door that is still open, a manipulated alarm sensor, etc. However, this siren chirping is not permitted within the EU. The EU guidelines only allow a constant siren tone for <30 seconds in the event of a break-in.
General technical data

- Quiescent current <14mA
- Low speed CAN bus
- Alarm control panel dimensions 9.0 cm x 5.7 cm x 3.2 cm
ECE test mark

Thatcham Insurance Certification
In combination with a 515M emergency siren and a US509 interior sensor, this alarm system has been certified by Thatcham in the following classes:
Vehicle category 2 classified as an alarm system in category 2-1
Vehicle category 3 classified as an alarm system in category L2-1
The certificates issued by Thatcham.org can be found under the "Download" tab.
Note on firmware upload
Please only use Microsoft Internet Explorer with the XpressVIP 4.3 (ActiveX) software to upload the firmware to the CAN3901V alarm system. Other browsers are not automatically supported and errors may occur.
Installation notes
The optionally available MS508 radar sensor cannot be connected directly to the 4-pin sensor socket of the CAN3901. The power consumption of the MS508 is too high for this. Connect the power lines of the MS508 directly to permanent plus and the "ground when armed" output.
Equipment notes
Depending on the vehicle type and equipment, additional costs may arise for installation, adaptations and additional data bus modules if you want to control and remotely start the vehicle. The panic alarm or the AUX channel can only work if the vehicle supports this function.
