As a steering wheel remote control adapter, the interface converts the signals encrypted on the CAN BUS for: steering wheel buttons, ignition (terminal 15), lighting (terminal 58d), speedometer signal (speed pulse) and reverse gear into analog signals.
This means that commercially available radios, navigation systems, taximeters and many other devices from various manufacturers can be connected to CAN BUS networked vehicles.
Depending on the vehicle, ignition (Z), speed signal (S), reverse gear (R), lighting (L) and PDC warning signal (PDC, in conjunction with CX-LS) are provided, and an existing factory sound system (SS) is switched on.
For vehicles with CAN on the multifunction steering wheel (MFL), depending on the vehicle, in conjunction with a device-specific cable, ARC-... retrofit devices from Alpine, Blaupunkt, Clarion, Digitaldynamic, JVC, Kenwood, Pioneer, Sony and Zenec can be controlled via the multifunction steering wheel.
