The PM100X1 is a 100 watt mono amplifier with dynamic power that uses DC and AC voltages that are present on existing radio speaker outputs. This design allows connection to a speaker cable without the need to run a B + cable. It also provides a safe load for the radio repeater circuit to avoid excessive wear and tear on the radio, making it ideal for OEM and aftermarket radio integration. The conformal coated circuit board enables mobile, motorsport and marine applications. PM100X1K "KIT" is supplied with 2 pieces.

The PM100X1 amplifier uses our patent-pending BTL technology to give you a unique amplifier solution. This single-channel amplifier uses the speaker output of the radio to provide not only the audio signal required, but also the power with which the device is operated. This is done by combining the DC offset voltage that is usually present and the audio AC signal itself.

Initially, the DC offset voltage is used for both the inrush power and the primary gain power. As the volume increases and the output power demand increases, the amplifier begins to share the power load between the DC and AC signals. As soon as a high volume is reached, most of the power of the amplifier is only provided via the AC signal and supplemented by its internal memory bank.

This construction allows him to actually charge his capacitive bank on the underside of the AC signal wave, which is essentially unutilized power anyway. It also doesn't load the radio more than a standard 2 or 4 ohm speaker, which protects the radio amplifier circuit from low impedance conditions. With this construction, the amplifier can be connected to a radio with a nominal output of 20 watts and dynamically generate up to 100 watts. The device also has a 2/4-ohm input switch to match the amplifier to the output impedance of the wireless circuit. For speaker protection, we integrate a selectable high-pass crossover with a setting of 60, 80 and 100 Hz.

In rare cases, there is not enough DC voltage to power the amplifier when it is switched on. Therefore, an additional B + cable is included that can be connected to other circuits with lower current in its vicinity. This design makes the amplifier ideal for OEM or aftermarket upgrades without the need to physically use larger amplifiers as these can be hidden in the dashboard or in the doors of the vehicle. It is also IPX6 certified for installations where moisture may be present.

"Free Load" is the name of the new, patented Rockford technology that is used in the PM100X1K. This technology makes it possible to amplify the loudspeaker signal coming from the car radio with up to 100 watts RMS very easily and without an extra power cable. It just has to be repeated here: WITHOUT ELECTRICITY (!). Thanks to the protection class IPX6, this amplifier can even be installed in the doors.
