Restrictions
CAN bus compatibilityThe CAN bus compatibility of the interface may be restricted for some vehicles entirely or for individual functions.
This may be the case become noticeable both during installation and later.
The interface with all video inputs can be operated with analog switching signals without being connected to the vehicle CAN bus.
In this case, individual additional functions are omitted, see following.
Only VideoInterface does not feed in any audio signals. In order to feed in audio signals, a possibly existing factory audio AUX input or optional products must be used (e.g. AUX-UNI0x, FM modulator).
Factory Rear view cameraAutomatic switching to RFK input only occurs as long as reverse gear is engaged. Optional accessories are required for different switching times.
After-market front camera switching to the front camera occurs automatically after disengaging reverse gear for 5, 10, 15 or 20 seconds (depending on the OSD menu setting).
Manual switching to the front camera is also possible using the external button.
Route linesIf the vehicle CAN bus is incompletely compatible with the interface or with an analog connection, the route lines functions cannot be used.
Factory OBD socketThe permanent connection of an OBD dongle product, e.g. for a fuel app or an electronic logbook, may lead to partial non-switching to the rear view camera, provided the switching signal is obtained from the CAN bus. In this case, an external switching signal from the reversing light and a normally open relay or an interference filter are required to install a rear view camera.
