Steering wheel remote control adapter Mercedes

Keep the original steering wheel remote control functions when replacing the factory radio with an aftermarket radio.
Depending on the vehicle equipment and the range of functions and software of the aftermarket device, individual operating functions may be omitted or replaced by other functions.
Compare the adapter plugs shown with those in your vehicle and make sure that they fit visually and technically.
Please also check whether one of the specified original factory radios was installed in your vehicle.
Before final assembly, check vehicle functions, vehicle settings and steering wheel remote control for functionality.

Suitable for the following vehicles:

  • Mercedes CLS-Class (W219) 10/2004 - 06/2008
  • Mercedes E-Class (S211/W211) 03/2002 - 02/2008*
  • Mercedes SLK-Class (R171) 03/2004 - 03/2008

The following signals are provided:

  • Reimported vehicles or vehicles with different software may be incompatible in terms of functions.
  • red: +12V ignition terminal 15
  • orange: +12V lighting terminal 58
  • purple/white: +12V reversing signal
  • pink: speed signal
  • green: ground GND handbrake signal
  • Output load capacity: 250 mA max.

Current requirement greater than 250 mA:

  • 1 relay coil resistance 75 Ohm min.
  • 2 relays coil resistance 150 Ohm min.
  • Steering wheel remote control

*Electric storage compartment function not supported

General installation instructions:
Check:

  • 1: Check all operating functions and vehicle setting functions of the OEM device
  • 2: Dismantling the OEM device without voltage
  • 3: Check all interface connections for correctness and continuity without voltage

Connection and Connection sequence:

  • 1: Make the settings and hardware configuration of the interface without power
  • 2: Configure the radio connection cable check
  • 3: Connect the radio connection cable according to the operating instructions for the retrofit device
  • 4: Connect all other connections according to the operating instructions for the retrofit device make
  • 5: Connect the entire installation to the vehicle with the live connection last
  • 6: Software configuration of the interface according to the instructions in the article text and in the BDA
  • 7: Configuration of the retrofit device according to the operating instructions for the retrofit device steering wheel remote control/camera/FSE/antenna phantom power and more
  • 8: Functional test of steering wheel remote control and vehicle

Changes to the hardware configuration of the interface and the radio connection cable:

  • 1: Make changes without voltage
  • 2: Connection after change see above 5 to 8

If the interface or the vehicle malfunctions:

  • 1: Revert to the OEM device
  • 2: Operating the OEM device
  • 3: Establishing CAN bus rest
  • 4: Checking the hardware configuration of the Interfaces
  • 5: Connection after CAN bus idleness see above 5 to 8
