Kenwood DNX9190DABS - 2-DIN Navitainer

With the DNX9190DABS, a real HD screen with 720P resolution is used instead of the usual monitor with 480P "SD" resolution. This increase in resolution corresponds to a factor of 2.4 times as many pixels on the same screen surface and ensures a breathtakingly sharp and detailed image. In combination with the ability to display 16.7 million colors, the DNX9190DABS has the best display that has ever been used in a Kenwood Navitainer! A particularly high-quality AAA panel is used in order to be able to marvel at this impressive picture quality from the widest possible viewing angle. This technology is comparable to the IPS screen technology as it is used in high-quality computer monitors and enables particularly wide viewing angles without having to reckon with color distortions or darkening of individual screen areas when viewed from the side.

The capacitive touch display, which is built into the new Navitainer DNX9190DABS, is provided with an anti-glare coating, which noticeably anti-reflective coating on the surface without losing clarity or contrast. This means that the screen can be easily read even in direct sunlight. Together with the anti-reflection coating, the new display ensures outstanding image quality and readability.

Own photo shows can be played in the background on the HD screen of the DNX9190DABS. For this purpose, a USB stick with a maximum of 500 images in JPEG, BMP or PNG format can be connected and displayed via the slideshow widget. Images in portrait format or panorama shots are automatically scrolled until the entire image is displayed.

The weather widget of the DNX9190DABS receives its data via a coupled smartphone with an installed INRIX app. The current weather data can then be displayed as an animated background corresponding to the current weather situation in the home screen of the DNX9190DABS or as a compact, displayed info box in the multi-widget window of the moniceivre.

For the map material of the Garmin navigation used in all Kenwood Navitainers
a paid update appears once a year. After being automatically activated once, the new Kenwood Navitainers can be updated free of charge for 3 years with the download version available from the Garmin website after initial use. Apple CarPlay

CarPlay - the smart and safe way to use your iPhone in the car. With KENWOOD, this type of iPhone integration is raised to a new level: voice commands are reliably implemented via the Siri function, alternatively the large buttons can be used to control Apple Maps, telephone functions or the music player. The latest iOS version (iOS 12.0 and higher) also supports navigation applications such as Google Maps ™ and Waze ™. Thanks to the WiFi function of the DNX9190DABS, Apple smartphones can even be connected wirelessly. (Compatible smartphone required).

Android Auto

Users of an Android-based smartphone can comfortably take their familiar smartphone environment into the car thanks to the "Android Auto" developed by Google. The user interface of Android Auto is designed for particularly simple and intuitive operation; as an alternative to control via the generously dimensioned touch buttons, many of the applications provided by Android Auto can also be operated comfortably and without taking your hands off the steering wheel using voice control . It is even possible to search for a telephone contact and start a call without having to operate a button on the moniceiver or smartphone. The ability to dictate and read aloud text messages complete the convenient communication features of Android Auto. In addition to access to the connected smartphone's own music library, it is also possible to use the "Google Play Music" streaming service. Android Auto uses the tried and tested "Google Maps" to navigate and enables precise, voice-assisted route guidance including the integration of current traffic data, clear lane guidance and many other additional functions. Spotify Control

Kenwood "Spotify Control" enables all essential Spotify functions to be controlled via the moniceiver's touch screen. This allows you to scroll through the Spotify playlists, albums, tracks and artists, or search for genres and other information. If Spotify is already installed on the smartphone, the iPhone or Android mobile phone is connected to the Kenwood moniceiver via Bluetooth and the Spotify app * is started on the smartphone. The Spotify service can then be conveniently operated using the Kenwood moniceiver's large touch screen.

Adjustable viewing angle

The fast-reacting 7 'capacitive touch panel has a screen diagonal of 17.7 cm and shows a particularly clear, high-contrast image. In order to always be able to guarantee optimal readability even in bright sunshine or difficult installation angles, the contrast and the brightness distribution of the display can be adjusted in five steps according to the viewing angle. The on-screen menus are always displayed with particularly rich black and good contrast.

Advanced dashcam link

Since the 2018 model year, selected Kenwood moniceivers can be connected directly to the DRV-N520 drive recorder using the "Dashcam Link" function. Not only can the dashcam's image be displayed on the moniceiver, but the entire control of the individual functions can also be carried out via the touchscreen of the multimedia monitor. As a result, it was possible to dispense with its own monitor in the design of the dashcam itself and thus implement a particularly compact housing that does not disturb the driver's field of vision. With all DNX Navitainers, the recorded video can be viewed directly on the touchscreen monitor. Thanks to a bidirectional connection to the dashcam, the new DNX9190DABS also allows the current vehicle position to be displayed on the map of the integrated Garmin GPS navigation during the recording.
