Capacitive glossy touch panel

The capacitive touch display, which is installed in the new moniceiver DMX8021DABS, has an anti-glare coating, which noticeably anti-reflective the surface without sacrificing clarity or contrast. The screen is easy to read even in direct sunlight. Together with the anti-reflection coating, the new display ensures outstanding image quality and readability.   

Apple CarPlay

CarPlay - the smart and safe way to use your iPhone in the car. With KENWOOD, this type of iPhone integration is raised to a new level: voice commands are reliably implemented via the Siri function, alternatively the large buttons can be used to control Apple Maps, phone functions or the music player. With the latest iOS version (iOS 12.0 and higher), navigation applications such as Google Maps™ and Waze™ are also supported. Thanks to the WiFi function of the DMX8021DABS, Apple smartphones can even be connected wirelessly. (compatible smartphone required).

Android Wireless Mirroring

Thanks to the WiFi function of the DMX8021DABS moniceiver, the connection can be established wirelessly using Android wireless mirroring. This gives you quick and easy access to all apps, including navigation and music, via the touchscreen.

Android Auto

Users of an Android-based smartphone can conveniently take their familiar smartphone environment with them into the car thanks to "Android Auto" developed by Google. The Android Auto user interface is designed for particularly simple and intuitive operation. As an alternative to control using the generously dimensioned touch buttons, many of the applications provided by Android Auto can also be operated comfortably and without taking your hands off the steering wheel using voice control . It is even possible to search for a telephone contact and start a call without having to press a button on the moniceiver or smartphone. The ability to dictate and the read-aloud function for SMS round off the convenient communication features of Android Auto. In addition to accessing the music library of the connected smartphone, it is also possible to use the "Google Play Music" streaming service. The tried-and-tested "Google Maps" is used for navigating with Android Auto and allows precise, voice-assisted route guidance including the integration of current traffic data, clear lane guidance and many other additional functions. In addition to the basic applications, many other apps are compatible with Android Auto and can extend the range of functions to include messaging services, Internet radio services or other compatible apps. Android Auto is designed for use with Android smartphones from OS 5.0 (Lollipop). Thanks to the WiFi function of the DMX8021DABS, compatible Android smartphones
can even be connected wirelessly.

Hi.Res Audio

The current Kenwood moniceivers are able to play back Hi-Res audio files with a resolution of up to 192kHz/24bit. Such files contain much more information compared to a normal CD recording with 44.1kHz/16Bit. This additional information and the significantly expanded frequency range ensure fascinating sound quality and an unbelievably acoustic sense of space when listening to a Hi-Res audio file.

Bluetooth speakerphone

The Bluetooth module allows safe and convenient phone calls while driving. The voice quality is ensured by the supplied external microphone and sophisticated sound processing with suppression of echoes and background noise. The possibility of connecting two telephones at the same time and operating them in parallel is particularly practical. With the new "Kenwood Music Mix" function, up to 5 phones can be connected in parallel to play music. The AVRCP 1.6 profile with extended control and search functions including the display of title, artist, album, etc. is used for audio streaming via A2DP. Thanks to touch menus, operating all Bluetooth functions is child's play, access to the cell phone's phone book is just as possible as the callback function.

Kenwood Remote S

The Kenwood Remote S app turns compatible Android and Apple smartphones into a comprehensive remote control for compatible Kenwood moniceivers. The app is controlled via large touch buttons for basic commands such as pause or skip to title via the app on the smartphone. The Kenwood Remote S App is available free of charge from the Google Playstore and the App Store.

DSP with digital time correction

The diverse, digital audio functions of the Kenwood moniceiver help to ideally implement the brilliant sound of the 24-bit D/A converter even under difficult acoustic conditions in the car. In addition to a 13-band equalizer or a digital active crossover, features such as the "Stage EQ" also help to make music playback in the car as realistic and true to the original as possible. In addition, the digital sound processor enables runtime correction for correct music playback and can be set individually for each channel.

Very low installation depth

The DMX8021DAB mechaless moniceiver does not need a CD/DVD drive and was designed in such a way that the installation depth was reduced by about half. Instead of the usual 160 mm installation depth for double-DIN devices, the model only requires 85 mm. In this way, the moniceiver can also be installed in extremely tight installation bays.

Adjustable viewing angle

The fast-reacting 7' capacitive touch panel has a screen size of 17.7 cm and shows a particularly clear, high-contrast image. In order to always be able to guarantee optimal readability even in bright sunshine or difficult installation angles, the contrast and the brightness distribution of the display can be adjusted in five stages according to the viewing angle. The on-screen menus are always displayed with particularly rich black and good contrast.

USB TYPE-C connector with fast charging function

In the DMX8021DABS, instead of a conventional USB TYPE A connection, a USB TYPE C connection is used, which brings many improvements. Thanks to the universal connection socket, incorrect insertion is no longer possible, and the TYPE-C connection also offers more speed and a stronger charging power of 3A. In the event that a TYPE-A USB device needs to be connected, a USB adapter from Type-C to Type-A is included in the scope of delivery.

4 camera inputs

The DMX8021DABS, equipped with 4 camera inputs (3 camera inputs (Cinch) + 1 camera input via AV-IN), enables maximum convenience, flexibility and security. For example, a front camera, a KENWOOD dash cam (DRV-N520 sold separately) and a rear camera can be connected to the 4 camera inputs. Alternatively, several other configurations such as connecting 2 blind spot cameras and a front and rear view camera are also supported.
