Digital radio DAB + with seamless blending

The DAB + tuner receives the more than 200 digital radio stations available in Germany free of noise, crackling and level fluctuations. And if a sufficiently strong DAB broadcast signal is not available, the tuner automatically switches to the appropriate FM frequency temporarily and without any audible interruption. “Seamless blending”, an intelligent data buffer, ensures seamless cross-fades without disturbing level and time offsets.

Variable lighting

The lighting color of the two-line LC display and the control buttons can be individually adapted to the vehicle interior. In addition to pre-set colors, there are also completely freely adjustable color tones to choose from using RGB. In addition, the manual dimmer allows the brightness of the display and key lighting to be adjusted depending on the ambient light. In addition to the 13-digit main display, the clear display has a 4-digit subline - particularly practical when displaying additional information such as the time.

Bluetooth Handsfree Car Kit

Bluetooth allows safe and comfortable phone calls while driving and thanks to the "Bluetooth pairing display" you can immediately see which phone is connected to the radio. The speech quality is ensured by the supplied cable microphone and a sophisticated sound processing with suppression of background noise. A special highlight is the possibility to connect two phones simultaneously and to operate them in parallel. For wireless music streaming via A2DP, the AVRCP 1.6 profile with extended control and search functions including display of ID3 tag information on title, artist, album, etc. is used. Thanks to the Kenwood Music Mix function, up to 5 Bluetooth audio sources for music playback can be coupled at the same time, so that you can switch back and forth between the A2DP streams of the individual smartphones.

Amazon Alexa

With the Amazon Alexa app, you can listen to music, check the current traffic situation, create shopping lists, get the latest news and much more. The more you use Alexa, the better the system adapts to your voice and your personal preferences. To use Amazon Alexa via the KMM-BT506DAB, only the app has to be installed on the smartphone and a Bluetooth connection has to be established.

Spotify control

Kenwood "Spotify Control" enables control of all essential Spotify functions via the radio. This allows the Spotify playlists, albums, tracks and artists to be scrolled through or to be searched for genres and other information. If Spotify is already installed on the smartphone, the iPhone or Android cell phone is connected to the Kenwood radio via Bluetooth and the Spotify app * is started on the smartphone.

DSP with digital runtime correction

With the DSP of the KMM-BT506DAB, the sound in the car can be improved in many ways. The equalizer with 13 bands allows, for example, the compensation of vehicle-specific increases or decreases in the frequency response and thus ensures a harmonious sound. The digital time correction enables the equalization of the influence of the acoustic room image caused by the speaker position.

Remote app

The Kenwood Remote App turns compatible Android and Apple smartphones into a comprehensive remote control for all Kenwood Bluetooth car radios. The app is controlled via large touch buttons or voice control for basic commands such as pause or title jump. And even more extensive equalizer settings or the runtime correction can be made via the app on the smartphone. The Kenwood Remote App is available free of charge from the Google Playstore and the App Store.

Large display, Vario Color and low installation depth

The VA-LC display of the KMM-BT506DAB offers a significantly higher contrast compared to conventional TN displays and is easy to read from all positions. The current time or a spectrum analyzer can also be displayed. Thanks to the variable lighting, the color of the display and control buttons can be individually adjusted.

By dispensing with an integrated CD drive, the installation depth of this media receiver could be reduced to just 100 millimeters. This means that the car radio can also be used in vehicles with a particularly cramped installation space or for hidden installation, for example in classic cars.
