Hertz Mille MPK 1650.3 -16.5cm 2-way Compo

The MPK 1650.3 car speaker system is the top 2-way system in the Mille PRO range.
The system uses the MP 28.3 tweeter with a diameter of 28 mm and thus inherits all the technological features of the Mille Legend ML 28.3.
The geometry of the Tetolon dome maximizes the typical radiation of off-axis listening.
The rear acoustic chamber with damping materials helps to extend the frequency response to lower frequencies and enables a resonance frequency of only 900 Hz. In this way, the crossover frequency between tweeter and woofer can be lowered, improving the sound image in the car's dashboard.
The massive neodymium motor minimizes nonlinearity and manages the music program with highly dynamic transients.
The CCAW voice coil made of copper-plated aluminum wire guarantees a particularly lightweight and solid assembly.
These technological elements interact with each other to produce a high frequency extension of 28 kHz – a record for a tweeter with a 28 mm voice coil. An elegant and compact angled tweeter support is supplied with the system:
This allows easy installation on both the A-pillars and the dashboard. The correct angle of the tweeter improves the stereo sound image, which increases listening pleasure.
The electroacoustic parameters of the MP 165P.3 woofer have been shaped to give it the pure and robust sound of an authentic mid-bass, designed for highly dynamic systems. The voice coil with the generous height of 14 mm has a nominal impedance of 3 Ω, combined with increased power handling.
These features allow maximum use of the power of the Hertz HCP and HDP amplifiers, as well as all the stable 2 Ω electronics.
The 95 mm ferrite magnet enables a linear diaphragm excursion of the voice coil of +/- 4.5 mm, which ensures maximum control at all times.
The Boundary Free Surround moves a larger amount of air, and the V-cone® profile improves lateral radiation for the best listening conditions in the car.
The high-quality basket made of an aluminum alloy neutralizes unwanted vibrations.
The MPCX 165.3 crossover creates the optimal sound balance between the MP 28.3 tweeter and the MP 165P.3 woofer.
It features bi-metallic capacitors with polyester dielectric for maximum sound transparency, and air-coiled inductors made of pure copper wire with a diameter of up to 1 mm, which eliminates saturation.
It also features wire-wound resistors with low parasitic inductance. The two-position Hi-Contour control offers the possibility to precisely determine the frequency response of the system and to optimize it according to the different speaker positions.
Above all, listeners can set their favorite sound thanks to the three-position control for the tweeter's emission level with attenuation in 2 dB steps (+2/0/-2 dB).
