All of them are constructed from heavy cast aluminum baskets with triple magnets. Absolutely dimensionally stable membranes are very important for woofers of this size.
ESX uses the best, but also some of the most expensive 3-layer composite membranes made of carbon, hardened cotton and glass fiber.
The combination results in the highest stability with the lowest weight and can therefore withstand the enormous pressure generated by the powerful 300 ounce magnetic drives.
The construction is also stabilized by a carbon dust cap.
In order to be able to absorb a lot of power, ESX also makes no compromises with the voice coils and uses a 76 mm CCAR coil in the 10" model, while 100 mm coils are used in the two larger models.
CCAR coils are made of aluminum flat wire with a copper coating, a highly resilient combination that also saves weight and thus increases efficiency.
The generous winding height of 58 mm on all models allows a linear membrane stroke of up to +/- 23 mm. Excellent!
