OPTIM8 8-channel DSP amplifier with automatic sound tuning
With the introduction of the Alpine OPTIM8 , we have eliminated many of the problems and confusion that normally accompany trying to tune the sound of your system yourself using a digital signal processor or DSP/amplifier. For this reason, the PXE-C80-88 8-channel DSP amplifier features automatic sound tuning and high-performance power, so you can experience the exceptional fidelity, clarity, balance and liveliness of your music without having to spend hours fiddling with controls and test equipment.
Matrix mixing allows you to summate and control input and output signals. Fully adjustable high-pass, low-pass and band-pass filters, as well as 31-band equalizers on each channel, tailor the sound to your speakers and smooth out peaks or dips in the frequency response caused by your vehicle's interior. With the time correction you can center the stereo image for your listening position. After the initial setup with your PC , all settings of the PXE-C80-88 can be made automatically using the app and the integrated microphone on your iPhone or a separate measurement microphone such as the Alpine KTX-CSP1 on the PC. PC users can make all sound settings manually to create a customized soundscape.
The PXE-C80-88 can of course be used as a standalone processor for use with your own amplifiers. However, with the integrated 8-channel amplifier it has enough power for your complete system. There are six channels available, each with 35 watts RMS on speakers with 4 ohm impedance or 70 watts RMS on speakers with 2 ohm impedance. This makes it equally suitable for factory and aftermarket speakers . In addition, the remaining two channels, each with 130 watts RMS on 4 ohms or 260 watts RMS on 2 ohms, can be used for powerful bass-midrange speakers and subwoofers.

The groundbreaking Alpine OPTIM8 is the new way to provide an all-in-one solution for effortlessly optimizing and amplifying any sound system with remarkable precision. The powerful DSP amplifier features Eilex PRISM™ technology, which offers a new way to perfect car audio. It measures the frequency response using the APVD (Acoustic Power Volume Density) method and simultaneously corrects timing and phase errors in speaker systems. This technology ensures that the sound reproduction is as close to the original as possible. In return, it offers remarkable musicality and intelligibility. This optimization happens automatically and usually takes no longer than 5 minutes.
All-in-one solution
Optimize your factory or aftermarket car radio and sound system with the Alpine OPTIM8. The integrated 8-channel amplifier with Hi-Res audio playback up to 96kHz/24Bit makes the OPTIM8 an all-in-one sound solution. Increasing the performance and effortlessly tuning the sound of your system can be done in just a few minutes.
Flexible application
The OPTIM8 offers you the flexibility to continue using your factory car radio and sound system or to integrate an aftermarket radio and sound system. The integrated amplifier has 6x 35 W @ 4Ω + 2x 130 W @ 4 Ω or 6x 70 W @ 2 Ω +2x 260 W @ 2 Ω and can therefore power a complete sound system. Digital inputs include COAX and USB (DAC), while a high-level speaker input of up to 26 V allows the OPTIM8 to be connected to an original radio speaker output.
Automatic sound tuning
Tune your entire sound system in less than five minutes with the Alpine OPTIM8's innovative auto-tuning features. The Alpine OPTIM8 puts an end to the complexity of tuning a sound system. Quick, precise measurements of the vehicle interior can be taken in a simple, self-guided process using the OPTIM iPhone App (iPhone/iPad) or the PC Software with the KTX-CSP1 external microphone kit(sold separately). Alpine's Auto-EQ, based on Eilex PRISM™ and VIR filters, simplifies the sound tuning process. It guides the user with simple on-screen instructions so that they can easily take a precise measurement of the vehicle system. After the measurement, the graphical tuning interface of the PC Software or the OPTIM iPhone App provides results in real time, allowing the user to optimize the sound of their system quickly and intuitively. During the measurement process, the user moves the optionally available tuning microphone KTX-CSP1 (or iPhone) through the vehicle interior, capturing hundreds of random measurement points. The Auto-EQ process is intelligent enough to ignore implausible information. The result is a consistent and extremely objective sound analysis of the vehicle system.
Eilex PRISM™ technology
The integrated Eilex PRISM™ technology measures the frequency response using the unique Acoustic Power Volume Density (APVD) measurement. The extremely powerful VIR (Variable Impulse Response) DSP filters simultaneously correct errors in the frequency, time and phase alignment of the speaker system. This technology ensures that the sound reproduction is as close to the original as possible and offers remarkable playback quality. One of the main advantages of Eilex PRISM™ is reliable measurement results - regardless of the operator or the environment. The newly developed VIR filters outperform conventional DSP filters in every respect.
Hi-Res Audio Certified
The Alpine OPTIM8 amplifier is Hi-Res Audio certified and can reproduce all frequencies from 10 Hz to 45 kHz. This range gives your music a whole new dimension of clarity and nuance. This means that a level of detail can be achieved that is very close to an original studio recording.
Individual listening experience
Tuning your system in real time, i.e. directly while listening to music, with the tuning tools. By adjusting the crossovers and delay time corrections, you can create a sound experience that is tailored to your ideal listening position or your preferred style of music. Use one of the six preset sound settings or save your preferred sound settings yourself. All settings can be accessed directly using the OPTIM8 controller (included in delivery).
Audiophile measurement microphone tuning microphone
The optionally available measurement microphone KTX-CSP1 is the perfect tuning tool for the Alpine OPTIM8 DSP amplifier. It is connected directly to the PXE-C80-88 and supplies the PC-based tuning software with a high-quality audio signal that the OPTIM8 processor needs for automatic, precise and faithful sound settings. The 3-meter-long connection cable ensures a balanced signal and a stable power supply for the microphone. This allows the microphone to be installed in various places in the vehicle for tuning your OPTIM8 system.
Universal wiring harness and Quadlook adapter
The optionally available KWE-PXE8-UNI is a universal wiring harness with Quadlock connectors that supports the installation of the Alpine OPTIM8 in vehicles from the Volkswagen Group, BMW and Mercedes Benz with Quadlock radio connections, for example. To make installation easier, an optional Quadlock ISO to standard ISO adapter (KWE-FR1AU) is also available.
